Why we gather

Across cultures and throughout history, gathering has been how communities have celebrated, grieved, taught, created and grown. The need to gather has never disappeared, it has simply changed shape. Today we gather in living rooms, backyards, art studios, book stores, and coffee shops. Any place can become a community space when intention is aligned.

Why it matters

We gather to learn something new, to explore a shared interest, to meet others and to feel part of something larger than ourselves. When people gather with purpose, communities grow stronger. And belonging leads to healing.

Why experiential writing

Experiential writing relies on our sensory details and emotional insights rather than just recalling events or free writing. When integrated into a gathering, this process takes on a powerful communal dimension leading to deep self-awareness. It is often the first step to significant change.

The places we gather

A storefront can be more than a place of commerce. A business can be more than a destination for transactions. When a space opens its doors to shared experience, it becomes part of the social fabric of a community. The resulting foot traffic is not simply movement through a business. It is the movement of community. It's neighbors meeting neighbors. Curiosity finding a home. Knowledge shared and relationships taking root. The businesses that host these experiences become trusted, familiar gathering places woven into the lives of the people they serve.

About Me aka Lu Klein

Kindred spirits are not so scarce as I used to think. It's splendid to find out there are so many of them in the world." ~ L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

I was in the 8th grade when I first heard Anne speak these words. My mom and I had rented the beloved Anne of Green Gables  movie on VHS and I was enthralled with this new word, "Kindred". I've held that word close to my heart ever since.  After decades of gathering with others in all sorts of community formats all over the world, and honing my intuition to recognize Kindreds, I now create these opportunities for others.

Holding closely the belief that we all have more in common than we do different, I now, more than ever before, feel the need to come together. I am a trauma-informed educator, writer and facilitator with a background in humanities education and a degree in sociology. My work explores the intersection of experiential writing with personal reflection, cultural narratives and the social systems that shape our understanding of identity, belonging, purpose and possibility.

That's the more serious stuff. Now the fun stuff. I simply love bringing people together in community. All kinds of topics. All sorts of energies. All the things. I am multi-passionate at my core.

So, if you're still reading, and are interested in what I can provide for you and your business, give me a holler. I promise I'll respond to your email.
